HR Hero Audio Conference on CD and Streaming Audio
Presented by Charles S. Plumb and Kristen L. Brightmire
February 13, 2008
With each CD purchase, you get FREE access to streaming audio. CD and streaming audio are available 3 days after each live event.
Even though the live seminar on this topic has already taken place, you can still hear it! For your convenience, we've recorded it on CD and audio stream, so you can listen when you have time or share it with colleagues in your organization.
What would you do if your office suddenly turned into a bad episode of CSI HR? How is HR supposed to deal with a worker being led in handcuffs out of the building to a frenzy of reporters and onlookers? How do you apply HR policies to an employee who's in jail?
Or worse -- you hear your employees are afraid to come to work because a co-worker's spouse -- who just finished serving prison time for assault -- is waiting in the parking lot to pick her up from work. How do you quell fears and maintain calm and productivity?
Get the answers to these questions and more when you participate in the popular HR Hero audio conference, CSI HR: When Your Employee is Accused or Gets Arrested. In just 90 minutes, experienced employment law attorneys will give you straight, plain-English answers to questions such as:
- What's the proper response when your organization is served with a subpoena or search warrant?
- What is the first course of action when someone is arrested at work? What are the worker's rights? What are the employer's rights?
- How is HR supposed to apply workplace policies to a worker who is in jail?
- Can you fire an employee accused of a crime? What if it's a violent crime? Does the basic tenet "innocent until proven guilty" invite liability?
- How should you respond to allegations of unlawful business practices at you organization? What if a high-level executive is accused or arrested? How do you answer employee questions and assess the situation's effect on your workforce?
- What should HR do when an internal investigation uncovers potential criminal activity? Can you legally require an employee to take a polygraph examination?
- And there's so much more...
