HR Hero Audio Conference on CD
Presented by Mary K. Samsa, Dana Hill, and Judith Wethall
October 18, 2006
Even though the live seminar on this topic has already taken place, you can still hear it! For your convenience, we've recorded it on CD, so you can listen when you have time or share it with colleagues in your organization.
IRS audits of employee benefit plans have significantly increased in the past few years, particularly with the introduction of Employee Plan Team Audits. On the other hand, the agency recently revamped its correction procedures to ensure that plan sponsors have a mechanism for independently correcting plan errors and speeding up the IRS audit process.
New IRS determination letter filing cycles begin in January and that means one thing: get ready for a compliance audit! But how?
Easy! In just 90 minutes, you can gain a new understanding of the IRS audit environment and learn how to apply internal compliance checks and best practices for becoming “audit ready.” All you have to do is participate, from the convenience of your office, in this live audio conference.
Make no mistake - the cost difference between settling a compliance issue while on audit and self-correcting is huge. That's why it makes so much sense to take part in this fast-paced interactive event. You'll get answers, from leading benefits experts, to the key questions every smart benefits professional is asking:
- Why the increase in audits?
- What are the different types of examinations, and how should we respond to each?
- How does the IRS select audit targets?
- What's the first thing we should do after getting the audit notice?
- What do they usually request?
- Can we avoid an audit?
- What are the key considerations when conducting a compliance review?
- How should we correct problems once we've found them?
BONUS: Compliance review best practices that can save you time, money, headaches, and watchdog scrutiny.
