For the first time in 20 years, the IRS has issued the long-awaited cafeteria plan regulations. The new regulations answer a host of nagging administrative issues and offer a few surprises for enrollment and discrimination testing.

Find out what these changes mean for your organization by registering for the all-new HR Hero audio conference, IRS Revises Cafeteria Plan Regulations: What It Means for Employers.

In just 90 minutes, you'll learn what you need to know about the "New Proposed Regs" and the pitfalls to avoid in implementation and design of cafeteria plans, as well as:

The specific new rules under the "New Proposed Regs" including:

  • A new method of imputing income on excess group term life insurance (over $50,000)
  • A limited retroactive election period for new employees
  • An exception from the deferred compensation prohibition for premiums paid in the last month in the plan year
  • A new nondiscrimination testing safe harbor for premium-only plans and new definitions of the highly compensated individual and the key employee

We'll also cover:

  • Much-needed clarification set forth in the "Old Proposed Regs" for the fundamental cafeteria plan and flexible spending arrangement operational rules
  • How regulations address leaves of absence under FMLA on cafeteria plan elections and permissible elections
  • Clarification on which New Proposed Regs are more participant and plan sponsor friendly, and which ones will require additional information from the IRS
  • And much, much more...

IRS Revises Cafeteria Plan Regulations: What It Means for Employers is just $227.
