Nearly 21 million Americans have diabetes and the disease has spurred a new wave of employment lawsuits and complaints, according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The agency received 912 ADA charges related to diabetes in 2007, compared to 672 just ten years ago. And those numbers could continue to climb with an estimated 54 million people in the U.S. diagnosed with a prediabetic condition, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
