Presented by Scott A. Holt and William W. (Bill) Bowser
September 19, 2007
With each CD purchase, you get FREE access to streaming audio. CD and streaming audio are available 3 days after each live event.
Even though the live seminar on this topic has already taken place, you can still hear it! For your convenience, we've recorded it on CD and audio stream, so you can listen when you have time or share it with colleagues in your organization.
As the competition to attract and keep top talent heats up, employers increasingly turn to noncompete agreements before bringing it aboard.
But HR, employers, and in-house counsel should use caution before going this route. Too broad, and the agreement will be found invalid. And what works in one state may not be enforceable in another.
Learn how to use these tools effectively by participating in the all-new HR Hero audio conference, Creating Multi-State Noncompete and Nondisclosure Agreements That Will Stand Up in Court.
In just 90 minutes, you'll learn:
- How to draft effective and legally-sound noncompetition and nonsolicitation agreements
- Secrets to implementing noncompete agreements in a multi-state environment
- When and how to use nondisclosure-confidentiality agreements and policy statements
- Tactics to prevent corporate raiding by former employees
- How to handle applicants and new hires with pre-existing noncompete agreements
A Texas appellate court recently issued a decision that held an employment agreement was, in essence, a noncompete agreement, and so two former employees of an accounting firm were free to set up their own competing firm under Texas law. In Delaware, on the other hand, a recent decision upheld noncompete agreements with an independent contractor who had formerly been an employee.
Navigating state laws on noncompetes is difficult enough. But it gets exponentially harder for employers with operations in multiple states. Register today for this live event and learn how to create and enforce agreements that will hold up in any state court.
