HR Hero Audio Conference on CD and Streaming Audio
Margaret (Molly) M. DiBianca
March 11, 2009
With each CD purchase, you get FREE access to streaming audio. CD and streaming audio are available 3 days after each live event.
Even though the live seminar on this topic has already taken place, you can still hear it! For your convenience, we've recorded it on CD and audio stream, so you can listen when you have time or share it with colleagues in your organization.
Are you searching and screening applicants on the Internet? Surf the web with care. Facebook and LinkedIn® are excellent venues to find talented young professionals who "live" on social networking sites. But feeding the talent pipeline online can result in costly litigation if a job applicant claims you've invaded her privacy.
Learn how to reap the benefits of online recruiting while minimizing your legal risks by participating in the all-new audio conference, 2009 Recruiting: Feed Your Talent Pipeline Using Google™, Facebook, and Other Social Media. In just 90 minutes, you'll get straight answers to such questions as:
- Many employers are establishing their own pages on popular social networking sites such as LinkedIn® and Facebook to recruit talent. Should my organization follow suit?
- How can I use corporate branding on the Internet to attract potential job applicants?
- How can I find job applicants who "live" online? What's the best way to use microblogs like Twitter?
- What type of information should I avoid on social networking sites when searching for talent?
- How do I handle information found online that I would NEVER ask about in an interview?
- What's my first course of action if an applicant claims my Internet background check constitutes an invasion of privacy? How can I avoid inadvertently violating the Federal Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and other consumer privacy statutes?
- How can I use wikis -- a virtual workplace housed on a company’s intranet -- to energize project collaboration, promote internal communication, and implement an effective work-life balance program?
- How can I use a wiki without incurring legal trouble, such as releasing sensitive company and/or employee information?
- How can instant messaging and other e-learning tools enhance workplace training and development programs?
- What are the legal risks when employees post content on a company-run blog or social networking site?
- What action should I take if employees post the company logo on their private social networking sites for blogs?
- How can my company protect itself from potential litigation surrounding employee usage of social media tools?
- How can company-wide social networking sites and online video help employees work smarter and increase their engagement in my organization’s business?
- How far can I go when keeping tabs on an employee’s blogs, instant messages, and social networking sites?
