Susan M. Webman, an attorney with Fortney & Scott, LLC, in Washington, D.C., has significant experience and expertise involving the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and labor, employment, and regulatory matters. Prior to joining Fortney & Scott, Ms. Webman was the primary legal and policy adviser at the DOL enforcing various laws including those related to employment rights of members of the uniformed services. She has lectured and published articles related to the Family and Medical Leave Act and its new provisions regarding military families.
Burton J. Fishman served as the Deputy Solicitor for National Operations for the U.S. Department of Labor during the George H. W. Bush administration. During that time, he was a departmental spokesman on safety and health issues, disability law, wage and hour matters, the 'glass ceiling' initiative, and the North American Free Trade Agreement negotiations with Mexico.
