NASHVILLE, TN, August 20, 2008 --M. Lee Smith Publishers LLC of Brentwood, Tennessee, a leading provider of information and educational resources for human resource professionals and business executives, has tapped the law firm of McAfee & Taft to serve as editor of the Oklahoma Employment Law Letter. Now in its 16th year, Oklahoma Employment Law Letter is a monthly review of new court decisions, regulations and laws that affect Sooner state employers.

As editor of the Law Letter, McAfee & Taft also becomes the sole Oklahoma representative to the Employers Counsel Network, a nationwide affiliation of leading law firms representing employers.

"We're pleased to have McAfee & Taft join our network of leading employment law practitioners," said Executive Director Connie Smith. "As Oklahoma's largest law firm, they bring with them substantial depth of talent, resources and valuable insight into the industry."

McAfee & Taft's Labor and Employment and Employee Benefits groups are among the largest of their kind in the region and have consistently received top marks by Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Lawyers for Business for their representation of management in all areas of labor and employment law. In addition to Chambers, firm lawyers have been nationally recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, Oklahoma Super Lawyers, Prominent Lawyers and the Labor Relation Institute's list of "Top One Hundred Labor Attorneys in the United States."

Serving as co-editors of the Oklahoma Employment Law Letter are Charlie Plumb of the firm's Tulsa office and Sam Fulkerson of the firm's Oklahoma City office.

Plumb, who previously served as editor of the Oklahoma Employment Law Letter for more than 15 years, joined McAfee & Taft in June 2008 after serving more than 26 years at another Oklahoma-based firm.

"We are delighted to have Charlie join the firm and equally delighted to be a part of the Employers Counsel Network," said Richard Nix, managing director of McAfee & Taft. "Oklahoma Employment Law Letter is highly regarded by employers statewide who recognize the need to stay atop regulatory developments, so having him and the newsletter under the McAfee & Taft roof reflects well on our labor and employment law practice."

Plumb represents management in all phases of employment law and labor relations and is a member of the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section, the Oklahoma Bar Association's Labor Council, and the Media Law Resource Center's Employment Law Committee. Plumb's achievements in employment law have earned him inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, Oklahoma Super Lawyers and Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Lawyers for Business.
