Founding partner Mary Anne Q. Wood has extensive litigation experience in commercial disputes and employment law. She has argued frequently and successfully in the appellate courts in the State of Utah and the Tenth Circuit. She is the author of numerous books and articles, and is a member of several boards and commissions including the Utah Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Civil Procedure and the Alternative Dispute Resolution panel for the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah. She has taught at the J. Reuben Clark Law School for 20 years. In 2004-2005, she was selected as one of "Utah's 100 Elite Lawyers" in Employment, Litigation, and Overall categories by Utah Business magazine.

Darryl J. Lee is a partner with Wood Crapo LLC and has over twenty-nine years of experience in complex commercial litigation, involving both government and commercial contracting, corporate ethics and compliance, complex real estate, and employment litigation. He has represented major defense and aerospace companies, industrial manufacturers, and financial institutions. Mr. Lee has successfully tried a number of state and federal bench and jury trials for both defendants and plaintiffs. Mr. Lee also represents mortgage bankers and brokers and serves as General Counsel for a large mortgage company headquartered in Salt Lake City. In addition, the Utah Supreme Court has appointed Mr. Lee as a pro tem judge. For the past ten years, he has heard and decided hundreds of small claims disputes. Mr. Lee is a frequent speaker and lecturer at local universities and professional organizations. He received Martindale Hubbell's highest peer review rating (AV).

Larry S. Jenkins has broad experience in complex litigation, including, among other areas, securities, antitrust, insurance, environmental, water rights, and appellate litigation. He also has extensive experience in local government matters, environmental permitting, and environmental auditing matters. He also represents a licensed child placing agency. Mr. Jenkins joined Wood Crapo LLC as a partner in December 1993. He is a member of the Utah Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Appellate Procedure.

Kathryn Balmforth has nineteen years of experience in complex litigation and appellate practice. She has successfully represented major clients in civil rights, employment, and ERISA matters. She believes in aggressive, cost-effective, and efficient resolution of cases. Ms. Balmforth is also experienced in education law, having served as both school district counsel and a public school board member.

Joi Gardner Pearson graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University Law School in 1997, where she served as a Lead Articles Editor of the law review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She then clerked for the Honorable Stephen H. Anderson, U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. In 1998, Ms. Pearson joined Wood Crapo LLC as an associate. Her practice concentrates in the areas of appellate, employment, and commercial litigation.

Richard J. Armstrong has been at Wood Crapo LLC since 1999 and was made a partner in 2003. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Idaho College of Law in Moscow, Idaho in 1996. In law school, he served as an editorial board member on the Idaho Law Review and worked in the felony appeals division of the Nez Perce County Public Defender’s Office. Upon graduating law school, Rick moved to Salt Lake City for a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Gregory K. Orme of the Utah Court of Appeals. Rick is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts within Utah, Idaho, and Nevada. Rick's practice focuses on a wide array of commercial litigation, including complex construction disputes, creditor rights, general business litigation, and employment litigation.
